Project:
Pooja is only 7 years old, but her life has already carried more pain than many endure in a lifetime. When she was just one year old, a moment of childhood innocence turned into a lifelong trauma.
While playing near her home, Pooja slipped and fell into a fire. In seconds, the flames burned her face and hands, leaving wounds so deep that even six years later, they still ache, physically, emotionally, and mentally.
The burns stole more than her skin. They took away vision in one eye, deformed one of her hands, and left scars that draw painful questions, stares, and silence wherever she goes.
Simple acts, holding a pencil, picking up a glass, eating with her hands, are daily struggles. Pain follows her constantly, but she has learned to live with it quietly.
Yet what hurts even more is the invisible pain.
Pooja carries trauma she cannot fully explain. The fear of fire, the hospital smells, the memories of surgeries, the feeling of being “different.” At times, she withdraws. At times, she cries. At times, she wonders why this happened to her.
And still, she goes to school.
Despite everything, Pooja studies in Class 2, sitting in her classroom with courage far bigger than her little body. She loves learning. She dreams of wearing a white coat one day. She says softly, “I want to become a doctor and make my father proud.”
Her father, Rai Singh, is a daily-wage labourer earning just ₹300–₹400 per day. Along with Pooja’s mother, he works endlessly to feed his family.
Over the years, he has already spent ₹3–4 lakhs on Pooja’s treatment, borrowing money, selling belongings, and draining every possible saving. Government hospitals could not give Pooja the care she urgently needs.
Today, there is hope, but it comes at a cost they cannot afford. Doctors at Lakshmi Memorial Hospital, Indore, have advised multiple reconstructive surgeries, including:
- Skin grafting
- Eye surgery
- Rhinoplasty
- Correction of skin contractures
These procedures are necessary not just to heal her body, but to restore her confidence, mobility, vision, and dignity. The total cost of treatment is ₹12.27 lakhs.
For a family struggling to survive day to day, this amount is impossible. Pooja is not asking for a perfect life.
She is asking for a chance, to heal, to grow without pain, to hold a book without difficulty, to see clearly, to walk into school without fear, and to dream without limits.
Your donation can change her life and every contribution, brings Pooja one step closer to healing. Please donate today and help Pooja reclaim her childhood.
Share her story so her pain does not go unseen. Stand with a father who refuses to give up on his daughter. Together, we can turn her scars into strength, and her suffering into hope!
