Project:
For the last 20 years, Tun Tun Singh has been fighting a lonely, painful battle, one that he never chose, but was forced to accept. At 53 years old, he suffers from neurofibromatosis, a rare and debilitating condition that causes countless tumors, large and small, to grow all over his body.
These growths not only disfigure his appearance but bring constant, unbearable itching, pain, and shame. Some boils are small, but others are massive, hanging from his body like weights he can never put down. His skin feels like it’s on fire, his limbs ache with each movement, and yet he never complains.
“People look at me like I’m a monster,” he says quietly. “I haven’t looked at myself in a mirror for years.”
But physical pain is just part of his suffering.
Ten years ago, Tun Tun’s wife left him. She could no longer bear to see his condition worsen. She walked out one evening, saying only, “I didn’t sign up for this.” Since then, he has lived in complete isolation, abandoned by both his brothers, with no friends to lean on, no visitors to check in.
Except one, his 90-year-old mother.
She is bedridden, frail, and entirely dependent on him. And he, despite his own pain, is her full-time caregiver. He feeds her, bathes her, lifts her in his arms with whatever strength remains in his failing body. “She is the only reason I’m still alive,” he whispers. “*If I go, what will happen to her?”
Tun Tun’s life has become a cycle of pain, silence, and survival. He cannot work like others. His condition is so severe, even wearing clothes can become painful. He barely manages to earn ₹200 a day doing odd jobs when he can but most days, the pain keeps him indoors.
The stares and rejection from people outside cut deeper than the tumors ever could. “*I don’t go out unless I absolutely have to” he says. “People move away from me like I’m contagious. I just want to disappear.”
Despite everything, Tun Tun has never begged. He has never asked for help until now.
For the first time in decades, there is hope. Doctors at Baderia Metro Prime Hospital in Bhopal have evaluated his condition and believe he can recover with the right treatment!
Surgery, medication, and long-term care are needed, and the cost is ₹10 lakhs. But Tun Tun cannot even dream of such an amount. “In ₹200, I can barely feed myself and my mother. How can I afford treatment?”
This is his plea for a second chance at life. Not just for himself, but for the mother who raised him, and whom he now devotes his life to. If Tun Tun doesn’t receive urgent medical care, he may not survive much longer. And when he goes, his mother will be left helpless, alone, and heartbroken.
Please, help Tun Tun get the treatment he desperately needs. Help him walk outside without shame. Help him live without pain. Help him hold his mother’s hand not from a hospital bed, but from a place of healing and hope.
He has no one else. But today, he has you. Donate now.
